Fabric Baskets

I took a break from Cozy Toes this weekend to address a need in my own home.  We like to keep our home as organized as possible, and one of our tricks is to keep baby toys and blankets hidden in baskets under the coffee table.  Right before my son was born we ran out and bought some cute wicker baskets. We were excited and proud of ourselves that we would not be that family with toys all over the house.  Then the baby came, and he learned to crawl, and he learned to destroy.

My sweet baby put his foot right through the side of the basket.  Tiny pieces of wicker were all over the house, and of course the toys were everywhere.  Obviously wicker is not baby proof.  So,  I started to look for a new option.  I scoured the internet for something that would look nice in our home, fit under the table, and that wasn't so fragile.  I found these adorable baskets from MagentaJade on Etsy. I showed them to my husband and he said, "Can't you make those?"  For some reason I said, "Yes, yes I can!"  However, let me tell you,  I'm approximately bald from trying to navigate heavy interfacing through my sewing machine.  If you have any doubts about your sewing ability, the baskets on Etsy are definitely worth the money!

Luckily, I didn't pull ALL of my hair out, and the baskets are done!

And so far, the babies approve!
